How does SESOM help incoming foreign students adapt to local conditions (i.e. academically and socially)?
Academically:
An orientation session is organized during the first week of the first and second semester whereby we help the students with the administrative part of enrollment, obtaining their Carte de séjour etc.
We also offer guidance when choosing the different courses / subjects offered by the school.
Socially:
At the beginning of the first semester:

Foreign students are assigned a “buddy” - a current SESOM student - who will help and guide you during the start of your stay!

The City Hall of Saint-Etienne organizes an evening out for all new students in Saint-Etienne whereby all the foreign students from the different schools in the city are invited. It starts with a guided tour of one of the museums in Saint-Etienne followed by drinks and an evening event of some sort.

Furthermore, a day in Lyon is organized for all the foreign students of the “Grandes Ecoles” in the Rhone-Alps region. Students have a guided tour of the town and then they are then invited to the City Hall in Lyon for drinks. A great success!
