For those students joining the SESOM from outside the EU, application for a visa before coming to France is essential. To apply for a visa contact your local French Embassy or consulate and ask for a visa application and instructions. As requirements may change from one year to the next, it is a good idea to verify the information given here is still applicable. At this time, visa applicants must submit:
- Proof of admission to the SESOM in France
- Proof of health insurance covering the entire stay abroad
- Proof of financial resources during one’s stay abroad, in the form of an affidavit signed by one’s parents or grant provider stating that the student will receive a certain amount of money each month
- A valid passport
- Photos
These documents, along with the visa application, and photos, should be sent or taken to the embassy. Emergency cases have been accelerated on request in the past, but you should allow three weeks.
